Basic Goal
To equip
believers with the tools to communicate the grace, love, and
message of Jesus Christ, and the skills to disciple others so
that they might do the same. We want to
enable you to grow in the grace of Jesus Christ so that it might
so change and empower your life that you can then share it
naturally and generously with others.
Structure of the School
We have three
levels in the school of leaders:
Growing in the grace and love of God:
We
will focus on growing in the understanding and knowledge of the
grace of Christ, receiving it for ourselves, and then sharing it
with others.
How to fulfill God's mission:
We will focus
on learning how to become disciples by studying the strategies
that Jesus used during His ministry here on earth. This will be
more than a teaching, a cell group meeting. We will be looking
at Jesus' teachings and His life and studying how He made
disciples. Jesus said His true disciples would bear much fruit.
We will be learning how to bear fruit in our own ministries and
lives.
Growing in the skills of making disciples:
We
will focus on how to lead others and how to minister to their
needs, the vision of making disciples, and how to lead a cell
group.
Guidelines of the School
The
School of Leaders is not a casual study course. It is set up for
people who are serious about their relationship with God and His
call to make disciples. We ask that you make it a priority
to attend each week. We ask that you try to complete all
the assignments (reading and otherwise) given during the week
and be prepared to share when we meet each week.
Learning Experiences
We will be
studying a couple of different sources to continue to grow in
our understanding of grace and God's love. We want to help you
to continue to allow God to minister His love and grace to you
so that you will understand and experience Him in great and
powerful ways. Our goal is that you will then be prepared and
equipped to minister to others out of the abundance of God's
love and grace for you. We will also be continuing to seek
to minister God's grace to those around us and helping to meet
the soul needs of others in our lives. Our hope is that as we
seek to minister the grace and unmerited favor of God to the
lost and hurting world, we will grow in our ability to minister
and we will also touch and impact our community. We ask that you
commit to pray for and ask God for opportunities to encounter
the kinds of people that Jesus ministered to. He reached out to
the forgotten, hurting, weak, fallen and broken of society.
This is a vital part of our learning experience. We can't learn
to be real ministers of the Gospel unless we leave the classroom
and get out into the field. We will be sharing each week about
what we are seeing God do through us, what we are learning from
it, the difficulties we are facing, and how we can grow in
ministering God's grace to the world.
